Laser-Cut Tlingit Artwork

The bright colors and bold lines of Tlingit artwork really lend themselves to laser cutting. I’ve been experimenting with laser-cutting my dad’s artwork to create small magnets. The originals are silk-screened killer whale and bear prints, respectively.

The challenge was tweaking the engrave settings to get the blacks in the original design to cut deeply, while only lightly scorching the wood for the reds.
